Fujiwara no Tadamune (藤原忠宗)
FUJIWARA no Tadamune (1087 - October 7, 1133) was a court noble who lived in the latter half of the Heian period. He was the eldest son of FUJIWARA no Ietada, Minister of the Left. His mother was a daughter of FUJIWARA no Sadatsuna, Governor of Harima Province.
1097: He was ennobled. 1100: He became a jiju (chamberlain). 1102: He was awarded the rank of Jugoinojo (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade). 1104: He was admitted to the court. 1106: He became Sashosho (Minor Captain of the Left Division of the Inner Palace Guards). 1107: He became Kurodo (Chamberlain). 1108: He was awarded the rank of Shogoinoge (Senior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade). 1112: He was awarded the rank of Jushiinoge (Junior Forth Rank, Lower Grade). 1119: He was awarded the rank of Shoshiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank, Lower Grade) and became Sachujo (Middle Captain of the Left Division of the Inner Palace Guards). 1122: He became Kurodo no to (Head Chamberlain). 1123: He became Chugu Gon no suke (Provisional Assistant Master of the Consort's Household). 1224: He became a sangi (councilor) and was awarded the rank of Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank). 1131: He became Gon Chunagon (Provisional Vice-Councilor of State) and Chugu Gon no daibu (Provisional Master of the Consort's Household).
Although he still showed promise of future greatness, he died before his father in 1133. Descendants of his second son, FUJIWARA no Tadamasa, and those of his third son, FUJIWARA no Tadachika, thrived as the Kasannoin family and the Nakayama family, respectively.
